2005-10-24 - Evening Air
A little bit of forward planning can go a long way, as I found out yesterday...
Those of you who have been following my daily photos for a while might have noticed that I like silhouettes. You also might know that there is a motocross track just down the road from my house - very handy. Yesterday evening there was a really good sunset and the sun was nicely diffused, making it a golden ball that you could look at directly without being blinded. I heard the sound of motorbikes down the road and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for some photography so down to the track I went.
This photo isn't quite what I had visualised (I was hoping to get the sun in the background but I just couldn't find the right angle and elevation) but it is pretty close and I'm quite pleased with it. It's nice to set out with a goal in mind and to achieve that. Maybe I should do more planning ahead...
