2005-11-08 - Out of the Wake
More action from the weekend's powerboat racing. I found after a while I wasn't getting many interesting photos (there's only so many times you can take a panned shot of a boat traveling in a straight line). So in an attempt to get something more interesting, I walked up the riverbank to the turning point. This also brought me a little closer to the action, but as was the case for a lot of the day, I still wished I could get closer. My 200mm max focal length just wasn't enough for the sort of shots I was hoping for. I had to crop quite heavily to get today's shot.
