2006-02-04 - Messy Eater

I've had my D200 for a few days now (and loving it!) so it is about time I started posting some shots from it. This was one of the first photos I took, late in the afternoon of the first day, using the 70-200VR. I was only just getting a feel for the camera but I was really impressed by the way it handled and the detail I was able to get, straight out of the box. This is a fairly heavy crop to show the sort of detail I'm talking about - the bird was at the top of a tree, feasting on some of its fruits. You can clearly see the bits of fruit on the bird's beak, hence the title...

Considering this is more of a snapshot than anything, I'm very excited by the potential of this setup.
