2005-08-11 - Into The Unknown

It's amazing what a bit of a change in altitude can do. This photo was taken a shortly after the one I posted yesterday and shows what it's like below the surface of the lake of fog. It also serves as a record of the daily bus journey up and down the mountain - 30 minutes each way, giving plenty of time to reflect on the day.

Aside from the conversion to black and white (via CS2's channel mixer), the only changes I made were an increase in contrast and a bit of sharpening. I really like the ethereal look of the blurry tree branches, which was caused by the slow shutter speed (1/25s) and the movement of the car. The bus remained sharp because it was traveling at roughly the same speed as us.
