2006-02-07 - Sharp Exterior

More macro fun with the D200. This is a dead thistle, taken in the fading light of late afternoon. I had to use F/2.8 and ISO 800 to get a shutter speed of 1/80s (still marginal for a handheld shot). I know, I know... I should have used a tripod but where's the fun in that?! The extra magification reduces the already shallow depth of field but in this case, I don't mind the effect. I think that's what photography is about really - making the limitations work for you where possible...
