2005-04-14 - Afternoon Glow
I was a little hesitant to post this because it is the sort of shot that loses impact when made too small. However, there's no other practical way of publishing it at the moment, so here it is!
I did a lot more editing on this one than normal - cloning to remove some distracting trees and powerlines, increased contrast and saturation and a bit of a crop. I wouldn't say it is one of my best shots but I think it is the most successful backlit shot that I've managed so far. Next time, I might try multiple, blended exposures to handle the wide dynamic range of a scene like this.
